Ride the Delaware River Railroad Excursions
from Phillipsburg every Saturday and Sunday during the summer and on special dates during the fall and winter. Don't miss this exciting trip along the Old Bel-Del.
In addition to a Day Out With Thomas
, there are other great train rides that Charles and Adam go on.
For example there are Easter Bunny Train Rides & Egg Hunt, Mine Train, Warren County Wine Train for mom and dad, the Corn Maze Train, The Great Pumpkin Train and the Polar Express.
New York Susquehanna & Western #142 is a Class SY 2-8-2 Mikado-type 2-8-2 steam locomotive built in 1989 by the TangShan Locomotive Work in the Peoples Republic of China.
It is among the last steam locomotives built in the entire world! The Passenger cars which travel with the NYS&W # 142 are former Long Island Railroad commuter coaches built in the 1950s and beautifully restored in the 1990s.
The New York, Susquehanna & Western Technical & Historical Society's websites are: www.877TrainRide.com
. Here you can see the Phillipsburg Steam Excursion's schedules, and order tickets online.
The New York Susquehanna & Western Technical & Historical Society is a non-profit educational society interested in the preservation of the rich railroad history of New Jersey, most specifically that of the New York Susquehanna & Western Railway.
The Society has close to 500 members located in almost every state and many from around the world. The society is primarily funded by the many rail-excursion trips run every year and is partners in the Delaware River Railroad Excursions based out of Phillipsburg.
Easter Bunny and Santa Claus train rides are a big favorite with the kids!
The Society owns three of the original four Susquehanna Budd cars, the only operating steam locomotive in the state of New Jersey and a fleet of over 20 passenger cars.
If you are interested in railroading there are many ways to get involved. The society operates a beautiful new engine and car repair facility in Butler New Jersey, the beautifully restored Maywood Station, the Delaware River Railroad Excursions and our office in Rochelle Park. At all sites there is always plenty to do.
