The Boone & Scenic Valley Railroad Museum Located in Boone, Iowa which is of a handful of museums that offers diesel, steam and electric railroad operations to enjoy.The trains of the Boone & Scenic Valley Railroad & Museum are a division of the Iowa Railroad Historical Society, offering excursions across the most beautiful scenery in the center of the Midwest along the picturesque Des Moines River Valley. You can choose vintage railroad cars and enjoy a fifteen or twenty-two mile round-trip

 

 

Passengers are offered an opportunity to go back in time on the 1920's period coaches or ride in the climate controlled 1950's dining cars. The museum offers everything for the entire family, from unique train excursions with dinner, dessert or picnics. The Boone & Scenic Valley Railroad Museum offers rides including the 1920's Excursion Train, Dinner Train, Dessert Train, Picnic Train, Electric Trolley, and Charter a Train. Special train events include Valentine Dinner Trains, Easter Bunny Express, Pufferbilly Days, Pumpkin Express, Santa Express, RAGBRAI Special, and the eagerly awaited and popular Day Out with Thomas event.
