Thomas Water Tower Steam Set is a special is made by TOMY and was first release in 2005 and discontinued in 2006. This is the only battery operated Thomas train that
makes real steam that is cool to the touch. The Thomas train that is included in this set is metallic blue and comes with Annie & Clarabel. It requires 3 AA batteries which are in Annie's coach. Two batteries are located on her roof and one is located under her cartridge.
There are also two switches on her. One switch is located on the top of Annie and this is what causes her to push Thomas and pull Clarabel. There is another switch underneath her that does three things, its Thomas' funnel glow red, it makes steam come out of Thomas' funnel and it toots and whistles for Thomas.
According to the directions it is recommended to use distilled water. Water can be placed in the water tower and is used for Thomas to create steam. Water can also be manually applied to the hole on Thomas' roof with the water dropper which is supplied with the set. The Water Tower Steam Set is a Motorized Road and Rail System.
Included are Thomas, Annie & Clarabel, Tunnel, Crossing Station, Water Tower, Trees, Girder, Crossing Bridge, Slopped Curved track, curved track, turn out track, straight track and half straight track, water dropper and extra filter cartridge. The Thomas Water Tower Steam Set features a real working water tower. When Thomas runs out of steam, stop Thomas underneath the water tower. Press on the pump to release real water into Thomas' water tank, Thomas is now ready to continue to steam along. Thomas emits cool puffs of steam as he moves along the track. See the billowy steam, and a red LED light glow from Thomas' funnel, as he chuffs under his own motorized power.

This set is no longer made but there are sets still available both new and used. Charles and Adam received a brand new from 2005 in perfect condition as a
Christmas present this year. This also makes a great
birthday gift for the serious Thomas the train fan. Although this is made by TOMY, Trackmaster battery trains will work fine on these blue train tracks.
