Day Out with Thomas train ride event
The Essex Steam Train is located in Essex, Connecticut and is associated with a heritage railroad known as the Valley Railroad Company originally founded during the period of 1868. In addition for being known for running the Essex Steam Train, they also run the Essex Clipper Train as well. In many ways the history of this railroad is as exciting to ride as it was originally reflecting the highs and lows of the American rail system.
The Valley Railroad offers a Day Out with Thomas where visitors can meet Thomas the Tank Engine. Other special programs and events include Santa specials and a ride on a Riverboat. The Essex Steam Train & Riverboat offers a 2 ½ hour journey which starts at the Essex Station a 1892 building for a rid which is 12 miles and narrated round trip. Passengers can enjoy the unspoiled Connecticut River Valley known as one of the last great places on earth by the Nature Conservancy.
Excursions on the Essex Steam Train offer vintage coaches which travel at 20 miles per hour through beautiful New England towns including Deep River and Chester. The riverboat trip accesses the natural and undeveloped Selden Neck State Park while the countryside is picturesque with pristine meadows, a millpond with waterfall, a quaint farm and over bridges and trestles.
Be sure to order your Train Engineers Hat in advance and have your child wear it at the event. While many people can purchase these at the venue it will be at an inflated price. Most parents break down and spend the money but if you enjoy saving money consider these great Train Engineer Hats in Blue or Pink, you can’t beat the price.
