The Florida Railroad Museum is located in Parrish, Florida and offers one a unique museum experience because the rides are the exhibits. They are one of several Official State Railroad Museums in Florida. This museum operates all year round with weekend excursions from the Train Station in Parrish, Florida. There are special weekend events which are themed train rides like the Day Out with Thomas event. A caboose is available for chartering a small party or even private parties while the entire train can be chartered as well for large functions like family parties or corporate events which create lasting memories.
The typical train excursion on the weekends runs between 11am and 2pm for Saturday and Sunday’s. There is a nice gift shop on the premise and authentic train cars to photograph and check out. The Florida Railroad Museum was officially recognized in 1984 as being meeting the criteria by the Florida Legislature relative to preserving the history of railroading while operating as a nonprofit organization. Examples of railroad rolling stock, exhibits, memorabilia, paper and other artifacts of Florida railroading really show case their mission in preserving this great American pass time.
Be sure to order your Train Engineers Hat in advance and have your child wear it at the event. While many people can purchase these at the venue it will be at an inflated price.
