Day Out with Thomas train ride event
The Grapevine Vintage Railroad located in Grapevine Texas operates passenger excursion trains. In particular Puffy circa 1896 is the oldest and continuously operating steam engine in the South including a vintage diesel locomotive circa 1953. The main run begins in Grapevine and runs to Fort Worth Stockyards. Once at the Stockyards, the train runs along Trinity River and returns to Grapevine. Passengers step back in time while they are aboard an authentic 1920s Victorian style coaches. This provides a sense of what it was like back then during the expanding West.
Grapevine Railroad is also home to a Day Out with Thomas. The railroad operates over nearly 21 miles of the Cotton Belt line. This links historic Grapevine, Colleyville and Smithfield including Fort Worth’s historic Stockyards too.
Be sure to order your Train Engineers Hat in advance and have your child wear it at the event. While many people can purchase these at the venue it will be at an inflated price. Most parents break down and spend the money but if you enjoy saving money consider these great Train Engineer Hats in Blue or Pink, you can’t beat the price.
