Midland Railway

 

 

Constructed in 1867 the Midland Railway has been operating excursion trains every since. The features a lovely 20 mile plus round trip ride from Baldwin City via Norwood, Kansas straight to Ottawa Junction, Kansas while traveling through the very scenic farmlands of Eastern Kansas including the woods via vintage railway equipment. Midland Railway is purely staffed by volunteers and is nonprofit with common carrier railroad operated for the purpose of preservation and display transportation history as an educational based demonstration railroad. This railway is easily accessible to Kansas City, Olathe, and Overland Park, Kansas as well as other nearby communities and cities.

 

 

Midland Railway can be enjoyed by the entire family, a perfect event to bring families to together for great fun. The Midland Railway is also home to the annual Day Out with Thomas event held once a year. This is the only railway in Kansas which hosts this event with Thomas.
