New Thomas Trains for 2012 from the Blue Mountain Mystery
Thomas is sent to work on the Blue Mountain Quarry under the direction of Sir Topham Hatt, the Fat Controller. While visiting this new place Thomas realizes he has seen a new engine which tries to hide. Thomas is very curious and sets off to find him! He befriends this engine called Luke, and Luke confides in Thomas that he has done something bad and has been banished from the Island of Sodor.
Thomas is skeptical and is determined to find out the truth as he uncovers an accident which occurred at Brendam Docks where by an engine has fallen in the ocean. Thomas tries to convince is new friend Luke, that he should hide as Thomas as learned the truth.
Luke the narrow gauge tank engine is introduced in Blue Mountain Mystery and is based on a Kerr Stuart Wren engine. His name is appears painted in white on his tanks on each side. Luke is painted a very handsome shade of green unlike any other engine. He is very handsome too.
Winston is a track inspection vehicle for Sir Topham Hatt and he is the only car on the rails. He enjoys having fun and means well most of the time. Winston is based on a Wickham 4B Trolley Car and is colored bright red. Although he may not be the smartest non vehicle he is humble and protective of Sir Topham Hatt’s poor driving.

Merrick is a crane but he is always very sleepy and he can be found snoring up a storm at the Blue Mountain Quarry during the down times when there isn’t work to do. While he is not the only crane on Sodor he does join the crane family which includes Rocky, Kevin and the Green Breakdown crane. Merrick is modeled after a traveling gantry crane. When he is awake and working away you can watch him toss boulders over to the stone cutting shed. Around the Quarry Merrick’s snores can be heard pretty easily.
