The World's Best Seaside Amusement Park
The Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk is a wonderful seaside amusement park on the West Coast of California and this family operated attraction is over one hundred years old. They can proudly trace their roots as far back as 1865.
Two of their famous attractions since 1911 are a wooden roller coaster ride called the Giant Dipper roller coaster dating from 1924 and the Looff Carousel. Both of these attractions are registered as U.S. National Historic Places and declared as a National Historic Landmark.
Their boardwalk runs along the coast the lovely Monterrey Bay beginning just east of the Santa Cruz Municipal Wharf extending to the mouth of the San Lorenzo River.
There are activities ranging from old fashioned carnival games, arcades to miniature golf and boardwalk bowling, Casino Arcade, Neptune's Kingdom, Laser Tag, snack booths and shopping stretching across 24 acres. The Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk also offers Art Festivals, and Train rides including the famous Day Out with Thomas the train event.
In addition there are rides on vintage excursion cars decorated in colorful lights. During the Christmas season you can sing carols and enjoy hot spiced cider while hearing musical entertainment. Don't forget there a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus too!
