Day Out with Thomas train ride event
The Strasburg Rail Road was founded in 1832 in the heart of Pennsylvania Dutch Country and it operates steam locomotives which haul excursion trains. President Abraham Lincoln visited the Strasburg Rail Road by stopping in Leaman Place on his inaugural train ride which attracted some 5000 people to see the president.
The Strasburg Railroad is situated directly across a street from the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania. There is a collection of world class locomotives and rail cars featured on display as well as the famous Pennsylvania Railroad Historical Collection. In addition to riding trains at Strasburg Rail Road there is shopping and casual dining and neat railroad activities and fun for the entire family. There is also a 45 minute train ride they are famous for.
Strasburg Rail Road is host to the annual a Day Out With Thomas event so bring the entire family. Also, for there are new Strasburg RR Thomas T Shirts available in blue and pink.
