Enjoy a ride on Thomas the tank engine during the Day Out with Thomas event at Embsay & Bolton Abbey Steam Railway. This is Yorkshire’s Friendly Line where refreshments are served at the station buffet at Embsay or Mrs. Kyndley’s Tea Rooms conveniently located at Bolton Abbey Station. There is also a nice gift shop and book shop at either station with ample parking and restrooms; this includes facilities for the disabled at Bolton Abbey Station.
Come and watch The Fat Controller, Sir Topham Hatt as he makes sure Thomas, Percy with Annie and Clarabel, and Diesel with his Troublesome Trucks are being very useful engines while he is hosting this wonderful event. Connecting bus services will be provided free for passengers attending a Day Out with Thomas between Ilkley and Bolton Abbey railway stations. The trains run every half hour between Embsay and Bolton Abbey stations.
For a lovely day visit the award winning station at Bolton Abbey where the Embsay station can trace its roots back to 1888. Enjoy the picturesque Yorkshire Dales scenery or picnic on the banks of the River Wharfe or in Strid Wood where you can expect to find refreshments at the Cavendish Pavillion. If you enjoy walking there is a pleasant one and a half mile walk to the ruins of 12th Century priory. Avoid disappointment, orders your tickets today.
